The MHRA is a joint agency of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (Methotrexate), the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
This decision is the first time the agency has approved a generic version of a medication in the UK and is the first to make it available without a prescription.

"EMRAs must be licenced for sales over a specified period of time, as there may be a number of alternative options available to patients."
